VOLTAGE

The Concept of Voltage and Current is sometimes difficult for electronics beginner. Voltage is tries to make the Current Flow. Voltage is equal to energy per unit charge. Voltage is measured in volts. In more precise terms it is the computation of the potential for an electric field to cause an electric current in a conductor. Voltage is also called as Electrical Tension. Voltage is also known as Potential Difference . Voltage can be said as difference between two points. It is Possible to Have Voltage without Electric Current but you cannot have current flowing unless their is a Voltage. If in Series it adds up whereas in Parallel it is same across all components.

DC circuits Formulas

V=Root of P*R

V=I*R

where V = potential difference (volts), I = current intensity (amps), R = resistance (ohms), P = power (watts).

AC circuits Formulas

V=P/I cos φ

V=(root of PZ)/cos φ

V=I*R/cos φ

Where V=Voltage, I=Current, R=Resistance, P=power, Z=impedance, φ=phase difference between I and V

We can easily measure potential difference using a voltmeter, potentiometer or an oscilloscope
